A powerful horse with top class competition breeding who rides like a seasoned hunter with the agility of a J A jumping pony. His natural elevation and good straight action make him a perfect choice for Mares requiring more quality and substance. Also he is very kind and quiet, making an ideal choice for nervous and maiden Mares. He hacks out alone or in the company of Mares, combines quality, good looks and superb paces with a temperament second to none – a real quality all rounder.

The Humerist’s dam, Hitparade is a Grade A Showjumper, by Maximillion, also a Grade A Showjumper. His Sire, Marlay Humorist, was the Sire of advanced event horses Marlay Silhouette and Stratham Sebastian who qualified for Badminton. Funnyman, his grandsire, won seven races, placed 15 times, travelled all over Europe winning over various distances and acting on any ground, time form rating 112, “progressive and very genuine” (Racehorses of ’73) and was the Sire of top class Steeplechasers Huntsworth and Torside, advanced eventer Comic Relief and working hunter of the year 1986 at Wembley Valindre. Hallmark was an advanced eventer from a line of advanced horses. Nelconde is by Nelgonde the Sire of Olympic team member Mr Bootsie.

The Humerist up graded to intermediate level in his first season eventing winning at Upton House, Osbaldeston and Bishop Burton horse trials. He has been quietly produced by Andrea Morris throughout, competing up to open intermediate level, qualified Someyleton National Novice Championships at Knaptoft horse trials novice regional finals and has been in the top ten BHDB Young Event Sire Rankings ’97, ’98, ’99 – ranked 5th 2000, also ranked 8th top ten living Sires by own winnings available by A.I. We accepted an invitation to parade at Badminton Horse Trials 1998 with other top event Stallions in the country and also Burghley Horse Trials 1999.

In one season of affiliated dressage he qualified for the novice and elementary winter semi-finals, has won or been placed highest percentage 70% competing up to and including medium level, has established lateral work and changes working at advanced medium and has won 80BD points. Dressage judges comment on his attractiveness and his correct paces. He has also won over £500 BSJA, qualifying Newcomers, Foxhunters, Members Cup 2nd rounds, Toggi Winter Championships and all Young Horse age classes – has carried a side saddle - competed in Hunter Trials – Team Chased – Drag Hunted with the North West Cheshire drag, where he jumps 5ft hedges for fun and hunted with the Pendle Forest hunt. These activities are all ridden in a snaffle.

He produces foals with quality and athleticism. His progeny includes – Arctic Posh Spice Champion coloured foal yearling and two year old. Thomastown, winner of six Novice Working Hunters, reserve champion twice, 3rd working hunter at the Festival of Champions 2000. Greenhow Johnny The Joker, champion hunter yearling and consistently winning in hand, now competing affiliated dressage, qualified Derby House Championships 2005. Curwen Beechwood II, Novice Eventer Show Hunter Champion & Supreme Champion 2006.   Funnystory, placed potential event horse three year old Bramham Horse Trials, now competing dressage, qualified Derby House Championships 2005. Genus Esprit, foal champion at the Lancashire and Cumbria HIS Show. Perdita, highly rated young event horse prospect. Phil’s Folly, in hand winner.Carsmore Funny Girl-winner of Sports Horse Yearling at Halifax. The Jongleur & Hello Classy Lady – Showjumpers. The Humerist has a very high percentage of coloured foals to coloured Mares, has a predominant bay gene and has never thrown Chestnut. He has produced many Showjumpers, Eventers, Dressage Horses and Show Horse Champions.
